On 28 August 2024, conducted supportive supervision for Tiphuke and Abwenzi women’s Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs) at Ndiyesa Mwana Village, in the area of Traditional Authority Mwambo in Zomba district.

The exercise was aimed at providing comprehensive support to the groups to ensure their effective functioning, sustainability, and empowerment of the members. YONECO facilitated the establishment of VLSAs in TA Mwambo’s area to enhance the rights and welfare of women in the area.

“Thanks to Tiphuke VSLA, I have managed to invest in various small-scale businesses including a restaurant, a grocery store, and a saloon. These businesses are helping me to bring food to the table, pay tuition fees for my children, and cover household bills” explained Lekeleni Magwira – a 34-year-old mother of two.
